Lauren Elise studied Graphic Design at National School of Design, Swinburne University, Prahran, Victoria. She has been a professional graphic designer for over 15 years.
Primarily a self-taught painter, Lauren Elise's interest in art stems from her 97y.o. Grandmother who taught her the basics of (oil) painting at a very young age. After a long hiatus, and a trying time to have children, Lauren Elise became a 'late-blooming' Mother in 2015, and refound her desire to paint. Her biggest inspiration is her 'miracle' daughter, who is featured in some of her paintings.
Other experience: Before motherhood, Lauren Elise was the Senior Designer and Medical Illustrator for the Faculty of Medicine at Monash University for 5 years. She then moved into Advertising at Clemenger BBDO and Simon Richards. While working, Lauren Elise further studied Art Direction at AWARD School and reached the top 10 graduates in Victoria. Lauren has also studied contemporary portraiture with inspirational artist and tutor, Jennifer Croom.
Lauren Elise now focuses her career in painting and drawing, accepts commissions, and enjoys conducting painting demonstrations. She has taught life drawing, and beginner painting classes.
Lauren Elise’s artwork draws on multiple influences from Australian life, travel, family, Realist, Impressionist, Surrealist movements to her life and involvement in the theatre.
