From the young age 7 I knew I’d be an artist, however the fear of starving to death led me down a far more commercial path into advertising where I’ve spent the last 20 years as a creative, strategist, marketer, business owner and innovator.
Typically, I’d describe my artwork as abstract expressionism, and sometimes impressionism. My style can vary greatly according to my vision and inspiration at the time.
I’m always inspired by my intuition. I rarely use reference material for my creations. I work in a spontaneous manner allowing my subconscious to take over and guide the brush where it needs to go. The same applies to colour and mixing, it’s all random and I don’t work systematically. I’ll work on one area of the canvas and move quickly to another section – completely unrelated. In the end, everything comes together.
Art is such a personal thing and it's important to surround yourself with things that make you feel how you want to feel. People often select my work for areas of their home or office where they want to feel tranquil, relaxed or uplifted. |
