ARTIST BIO

Bio

I am an emerging, Melbourne-based artist. To date I have been creating and selling paintings privately, but am looking to expand into a more open market. The intention behind my current pieces is to take existing landscapes, strip them down to their simplistic forms, and build them back up into an abstract complexity using an artificial system of colours, and paint application that I have developed in the previous four years, and am continuing to develop. Future series will include both landscapes, as well as still lifes and portraits that will explore existentialism. Half of any profit I make from art will be donated to UNICEF (The United Nation’s Children’s Fund).

Education

  • My high school education was completed at Wesley College, GW, where I partook in a variety of extracurricular art classes, ranging from painting, to printing, to pottery.
  • I am currently studying Biomedicine at the University of Melbourne, where I will be furthering my education in the fine arts – I am currently enrolled in “Art and the Botanical”, and intend to enrol into “Painting Techniques” and/or “Drawing with Anatomy”. I plan on using my education in biomedicine to bring unusual views into my paintings; for instance, I plan to create a series of anatomical paintings using experiences in cadaveric dissection as source material.
  • Although my bachelor’s degree will channel me into a non-fine arts practice, my intention is to continue developing my skills in painting, and marketing my paintings as a part-time occupation.
  • For the most part, I am self-taught, which I treat as an opportunity to develop my own, unique style of painting.
